The client originally contacted the designer to make
the kitchen more functional and updated. A desire for
many drawers and the realization that more than a
single make-over was needed led to a total renovation.
A trip to Chicago's Merchandise Mart Design Center was
enlightening and many selections were made.
The space was slightly altered by moving
the peninsula counter and additional
lighting was installed. Many, many
drawers were added, making accessibility
to cooking utensils easy. A fabulous
tile design, complimenting the low black
appliances, sink, and quartz
countertops, adds to the simple but
dramatic effect.
This is a truly beautiful and functional
design, and has added many happy, easier
cooking hours to the client's lives.
