For this particular project, the client was moving
from a rather newly refurbished townhouse in North
Carolina to a condominium in Indianapolis. Our mission
was to reuse as much of the furniture from the
townhouse as was possible and to add new pieces only
where necessary. For reference, you might want to look
at the townhouse photos.
One of the things we ran into were
outdated bathrooms, which we were
originally going to use my “doing a lot
with what you’ve got service” and just
paint and paper, etc. BUT the more we
studied them we began to see a greater
need. So, two of them ended up partially
renovated, and one of them which was for
her personal use, was gutted and started
over with. All three came out looking
GREAT! As ever on this job we were on
our quest for function meeting beauty
and to improve the quality of life for
our client. Another BIG problem we saw
was the living room/dining room looking
long and narrow, like a “shoebox.”
We created a new ceiling line in the
Living Room and a “tray” to define the
Dining Room! The results with the
addition of color and an antique family
chandelier are DRAMATIC creating the
feeling of two rooms in the space of
one. We also punched out an outdated bar
area creating an alcove for a dramatic
Diva chest which we wanted to showcase.
Our color palette was based on fabrics
previously used with new twists where
possible. All in all we had GREAT
results! Thanks for taking a look.
